04/15/08 - Officer Elections
This Wednesday, we will be holding IEEE officer elections after our meeting with Lockheed Martin. Please come and vote for the IEEE officers of your choice. There will be food at the meeting, and this is your last chance for professional points.

UPDATE: The meeting has been moved to Thursday, same time, same place. Lockheed Martin could not make it, so we will be having a lecture on pulsed power, presented by our very own Dr. Giesselmann.
04/08/08 - Newsletter
For those of you who don't spend enough time in the Electrical Engineering building, we have added a new page to the site for downloading the latest newsletter. You will find the link under "Resources". This month's issue contains a stimulating conversation with our very own Dr. Storrs. Thanks to Cliff Schecht for an entertaining and informative newsletter.

There has been another update to the points list. You will now find a direct link under "Resources" to the points page where you can view the latest points list as well as archived semesters. As always, if you find something wrong with the points, e-mail our current Secretary.
03/25/08 - IEEE Video Competition
Whether you know them or not, your local IEEE officers have been working hard to promote our student branch here at Texas Tech University. One of the biggest events coming up is the Region 5 conference, where students just like you will be competing in a paper contest, robotics competition, and a few other events. If you are interested in helping, or just want to find out more, find out how to contact us on our Officers page.

Here is an example of what our Officers have dreamed up for the Video Competition.

Thanks to Samuel Chanjaplammootil, Kevin Hooper and Michael Jaco!
02/11/08 - Great opportunities this week!
We here at IEEE would like to make you aware of some amazing opportunities coming up this week.

First, we are having a special meeting tonight in order to accommodate a very special guest, Dr. Rajinder Khosla from the National Science Foundation. Dr. Khosla was the general manager of Eastman Kodak until 1995. Now he is a director at NSF and he will be talking to undergraduates about going into research after receiving their degree. Dr. Khosla does not normally come to the university in order to talk to students, so I suggest you come for a very rare appearance. We are excited about this meeting and we hope you take advantage of this occasion.

At this point, you should be highly aware of the job fair happening this Wednesday. We would just like to remind you once again to go to http://coe.ttu.edu/careers for information. You can never be too prepared.

Finally, we want to be sure that you know about Engineering Week all next week. National Instruments will be in the middle of the engineering key on Monday, February 18th to raise awareness for engineering and present some of their products. Tuesday, the IEEE is joining up with ASME to provide a BBQ in the engineering key. We will also be presenting some of the basics of Electrical Engineering in the form of activities and demonstrations. It will be loads of fun and as always, there will be free food! Come and support your local IEEE student branch!
01/24/08 - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
There will be a meeting tonight at 5:30 in HOLDEN HALL 130 for all to attend. We will have a guest speaker from Crosstex Energy, free pizza, and the first chance this semester for professional points. Please come for your benefit and to welcome Crosstex Energy.
